Tokens of Engagement
A part of me still looks back
Pass the days and hidden track
As my hand slips down my pocket
I felt the cold steel of a locket
As memories of winter shivers
To snowflakes dipping in rivers
It was once tied around my neck
Was icy silver and without a speck
As feelings of brief winter chills
To frosts clinging in windowsills
But my eyes lay upon my fingers
To see a golden ring still lingers
As warm as the coming spring
To children playing in a swing
