Prayers to the Moon
As you slowly ascent
My eyes sadly descent
To a dark place of lament
I pray for a divine advent
Yet my hands lay with resent
For I bear no traits to augment
I have nothing but honest intent
And if only your glance would consent
To overlook my misleading portent
It might begin our heart’s content
For our lips can seal any ferment
But in your arms I will eternally relent
