Humans and Aliens
I feel the world just
ended in my head
Seeing people not
looking as if dead
Speaking to one
another like a machine
There’s neither heart
nor life in between
It’s true that we live
in the future nowadays
For customer service
is lost and in a daze
We receive junk that
we don’t like and need
Pushed to our ears
without warning or heed
There’s a crusade
running against nature
Acting as if it’s savior and loving preacher
We lost our magic that
comes deep within
For we no longer
listen to ourselves to begin
The natural instinct
that was a god given talent
Is now prohibited by
law and the government
We no longer stare at
the moon and the stars
For our eyes are
digitized and no longer ours
Our schools are meant
for what but never why
Our dreams are crushed
by poverty into a sigh
Our thirst for freedom
will never be quenched
For the pain, in our
hearts, our teeth are clenched
We are on the edge of
a technological golden age
But is our humanity
the price for this passage?
Technology is an
imitation of Mother Nature
Must we be turned into
machines in the future?
I have always listened
to the seashells of the shore
But now I’m an alien
in a world I’ve fought hard for
