The Conductor
Forgive me, for in you, I can only confide
My choices are set but fate can only decide
I am merely borrowing a moment of eternity
Hoping to give meaning to a growing affinity
To raise my hand is to share my life to music
Lifting it up lightly as I listen how it speak
It tickles my skin and soothes my restive heart
But to wave my hand is to have music depart
It plays with my memories like golden strings
Igniting frozen dreams into a thousand springs
Raising spirits of distant past and future scenes
Evoking my every triumphs and agonizing sins
Suddenly my heart and soul recalls another tune
One that magnifies the beautiful light of the moon
A symphony accompanied by a voice in the air
As stars shine through the wave of her black hair
But with realization comes the curse of silence
Morphing my smiles into a monster of pretense
I tremble with tears each time I hold a cold baton
Now that I know what I lost and is now truly gone
