The End of Summer

Kill them all I say
In a crimson river they lay
*
White as pebbles they pray
For cries and pain is my price
*
No quick death will suffice
For revenge is my own device
*
Her light was never yours to take
Yet her pleas you utterly forsake
*
Like winter I now stand in her wake
As time falls with autumn leaves
*
The sky tones down and grieves
The cold wind races and weaves
*
Tattered thoughts of us apart
Embraces my withering heart
*
Pushing these tears to depart
Falling in my hands to keep
*
As I bid farewell in your sleep
Thus summer ended as I weep
